Requirements

  • Up to 1 year of experience in an industrial cooking environment, quick dining, or completion of culinary school, preferred.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning and a desire to grow within a professional culinary team.
  • Show enthusiasm for creating meals and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.
  • Commitment, energy, and a team-oriented mindset for a fast-paced culinary setting.
  • ServSafe Food Handlers License (Texas) is required.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and support basic food production by chopping vegetables, portioning items, and setting up mise en place for hot and cold food stations, ensuring readiness for daily service in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized workstations by following all Health Department regulations, properly storing and labeling food items, and assisting with routine kitchen cleaning and sanitation procedures throughout each shift.
  • Support consistent food quality and presentation by following Canyon Ranch recipes, nutrition philosophy, and plating guidelines while learning and reinforcing proper food preparation techniques and standards.
  • Perform daily kitchen operational tasks including assigned opening and closing procedures, restocking ingredients, and ensuring all stations are properly set up and broken down according to direction from culinary leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors by reporting discrepancies in recipes, ingredients, yields, or measurements to ensure corrections are made and standards are consistently maintained.
  • Follow direction from Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and Chef de Parties while working under close supervision to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
