This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen organization, and supporting chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences for hotel guests and restaurant patrons. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, values teamwork, and is passionate about food quality and kitchen excellence.
Requirements
- Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Food Handler Certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
Responsibilities
- Prepare recipes based on chef specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, storage areas, and equipment
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department standards at all times
- Assist line cooks and chefs during meal service as needed
- Label, stock, and rotate inventory according to FIFO standards
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation standards
- Properly store food items and monitor freshness
- Support banquet, restaurant, and room service kitchen operations
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
