About The Position

Levy at American Airlines Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented event-based, part-time Prep Cook to support our Culinary team. This position may be assigned to Pizza Prep or Pastry/Cookie Prep, preparing high-quality food items for games, concerts, and special events. The ideal candidate works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining Levy standards for quality, consistency, food safety, sanitation, and presentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen, banquet-style, catering, or fine-dining (stadium, arena, or event venue experience a plus).
  • Valid ServSafe or state-approved Food Handler's certification.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, frying, and roasting. Strong cooking skills with knowledge of various cuisines and live station formats.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays according to event schedules.
  • Excellent customer service, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

  • Stadium, arena, or event venue experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizza, dough, sauces, toppings, cookies, pastries, desserts, and other assigned menu items according to standardized recipes and production needs.
  • Measure, portion, mix, assemble, bake, and prepare ingredients while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
  • Follow production schedules and prepare appropriate quantities for event-day service.
  • Properly label, date, rotate, store, and maintain food products according to FIFO, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and portioning throughout preparation and production.
  • Safely operate ovens, mixers, food processors, slicers, and other approved kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, including equipment, utensils, preparation surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Assist with stocking, inventory, receiving, and organizing ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs, supervisors, and culinary team members to meet production and event-service needs.
  • Perform additional culinary preparation and duties as assigned.
