About The Position

Big Bob’s Bowling is looking for a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook to support our kitchen operations. This role combines dishwashing responsibilities with food preparation duties to help ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and maintains high food safety standards. In this position, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and dishes while also assisting the culinary team with ingredient preparation and basic cooking tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to follow recipes, kitchen procedures, and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean, sanitize, and organize all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment used in food preparation and service while following sanitation standards.
  • Properly operate, clean, and maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring machines are functioning correctly and reporting any maintenance issues to management.
  • Maintain an organized dishwashing station to ensure a consistent supply of clean equipment for kitchen staff.
  • Prepare and portion ingredients according to established recipes and kitchen guidelines.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as cutting, portioning, assembling, and organizing ingredients for menu items.
  • Store and label ingredients properly while following food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment and prevent foodborne illnesses.
  • Assist in monitoring ingredient levels and communicate with management regarding inventory needs.
  • Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) practices to minimize food waste and maintain product freshness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized prep area, including kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation stations.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to coordinate prep tasks and support smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
  • Remove trash, break down boxes, and help maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
  • Complete additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by the management team.
