This role is crucial in the preparation of high-quality dishes in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner, working closely with the culinary team to ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.
  • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchenware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Standing for the duration of a 6+ hour shift with appropriate breaks.
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean workstations, move garbage, etc.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
  • Constant bending, stooping and turning, etc.
  • Constant exposure to hot and damp temperature fluctuations.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary training or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, and prepare cooking elements for meal preparation during a shift.
  • Store items in the refrigerator, cover items left in the open air, and prepare special food elements ahead of time for quick access.
  • May be responsible for preparing a certain portion of a dish.
  • Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area throughout the shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station.
  • Break down and clean station thoroughly every day.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products to par.
  • Label, day dot, and sign all products.
  • Obtain Chef/Manager signature on all products.
  • Must be dressed and well groomed in Company approved uniform at all times.
  • Observance of all SRC Policies and Procedures.
  • Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working.
