About The Position

At The Wild Thyme Company, we handcraft delicious, local, and seasonal cuisine without boundaries. This is for our Sorrento Valley location. We are the in house caterer for a local company completing all daily meeting orders and large events. We are a collaborative, high-energy culinary team that values creativity, consistency, and a shared passion for great food.

Requirements

  • Previous prep cook or professional kitchen experience (catering experience a plus)
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques
  • Ability to follow recipes and detailed instructions
  • Organized, efficient, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and passion for food

Responsibilities

  • Daily food preparation for a variety of catering events
  • Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and standards
  • Maintain proper labeling, storage, and rotation of food (FIFO)
  • Ensure consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation
  • Support freezer pulls and inventory management as directed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
  • Work collaboratively with team to put out the best quality food in short period of time
