About The Position
This is a part-time position where the employee will be responsible for various tasks related to preparing merchandise for delivery and maintaining the warehouse. Key duties include stocking, labeling, and pulling merchandise, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area. The role requires attention to detail in inspecting merchandise, managing inventory, and adhering to safety procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Positive attitude when working with customers
- Ability to work in a face paced environment
- Knowledge of employment, merchandise handling, and safety procedures
Responsibilities
- Stock all cages with merchandise
- Label all merchandise with a destination using a scan gun properly
- Remove any damaged merchandise and take to repair shop
- Pull merchandise for deliveries in a timely fashion
- Assemble merchandise for next day deliveries
- Keep warehouse area clean
- Open merchandise
- Move items off of loading belts
- Maintenance of all cages
- Remove trash from work area
- Sweep work area
- Receive product from sections
- Inspect merchandise for functionality, damages, defects, and imperfections
- Use proper procedures when working with knives, flat carts, and lifting merchandise
- Account for all scheduled items for next day delivery, checking for shortages through auditing the manifest
- Assist other departments in the warehouse as needed
- Check daily closing assignments and responsibilities
- Use excellent customer relations when working with internal and external customers
- Perform any other duties as directed by management
