About The Position

This is a 1st Shift position at Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids, IA, operating from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm. The facility is a 3-shift operation with approximately 200 hourly staff members, a mix of temporary and full-time associates. It specializes in food service with multiple soup lines, a tub line, kettles, filling lines, and packaging lines, producing frozen soups and macaroni & cheese. The role requires a highly skilled operator, flexible to work in multiple positions daily, with solid knowledge of bag preparation, spice handling, hand pre-weighing, and understanding product requirements. The operator will be responsible for identifying quality concerns related to ingredients, allergen labeling, and cleans/changeovers.

Requirements

  • Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. above your head
  • Must be able to perform well under stress
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner.
  • Must ensure quality products are being packaged.
  • Responsible for following all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures.
  • Responsible for Q-RMP standards implementation as defined by the accountability list document.
  • Employees will follow all safety protocols and perform their job responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Have solid knowledge of bag prep, spice, hand pre-weigh and all products’ requirements.
  • Identify any quality concerns with the ingredients, allergen labeling or cleans/changeovers.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh raw ingredients according to recipe
  • Organize ingredients according to recipes by placing them in barrels, drums, etc.
  • Perform constant / accurate inventory checks on ingredients according to schedules
  • Stage materials according to recipe
  • Complete paperwork / IQS entries
  • Cover staged ingredients
  • Place recipe tag on barrel / carts when recipe is complete
  • Clean / Sanitize work area
  • Help with other recipes as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assemble/changeover equipment as assigned.
  • Quality (verify product quality, item numbers, weights)
  • Safety (follow all required safe work practices—ie: PPE, JSA)
