About The Position

Provides professional patient care and practices occupational therapy by implementing and documenting treatment under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Treats patients in accordance with the order from the physician and the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist. Will provide treatment through the use of a variety of therapeutic procedures and assistive devices intended to maximize functional potential in all areas of the patient's life. Implements an individualized treatment plan based on the Occupational Therapist's evaluation and plan of care to address patient needs. Collaborates with supervising Occupational Therapists throughout the treatment process to discuss updates and revisions as needed. Establishes and instructs patients, families, and other caregivers in exercises and therapeutic home programs to be continued following discharge. Completes appropriate documentation and billing in a timely manner. All care is provided in accordance with the philosophy and essential functions of the hospital, the rehabilitation department, the Indiana State Practice Act, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the Joint Commission.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state where services will be provided within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Certified in CPR or must become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Maintain all certifications and licensure according to the expiration date.
  • Valid driver's license if assigned to drive a company vehicle.
  • Proof of insurance if assigned to drive a personal vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds, may be required to push/pull up to 300 pounds.
  • Willing to work at other locations as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • American Occupational Therapy Association membership preferred.
  • Work experience preferred, but not required other than clinical experience within educational training program.
