About The Position

Premium Auditor II examines policyholders’ operations and financial records to ensure exposures—including payroll, sales, and fixed assets—are accurately calculated under insurance guidelines. The role focuses on smaller, less complex risks and communicates audit findings through detailed formal reports supported by workpapers. The auditor works from home when not traveling to policyholders’ locations.

Responsibilities

Examine policyholders’ accounting and financial records to ensure accurate calculation of earned premium for smaller, less complex risks.
Ensure audited exposures, such as payroll, sales, and fixed assets, are accurately calculated in accordance with insurance guidelines.
Review audit documentation and company policy systems to identify auditable exposures and coverages and plan the audit strategy.
Investigate policyholder operations to determine actual exposures, verify classifications under the policy, and ensure compliance with applicable state laws and insurance regulations for the audit period.
Prepare detailed workpapers and written correspondence supporting audit findings.
Identify audit issues and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders, including Central Processing, Distribution, Underwriting, and agents or brokers, to explain risk conditions or initiate policy contract changes.
Manage workload and time efficiently, including scheduling appointments based on assignment priority and location, managing work in process, and documenting progress for stakeholders and management.
Complete routine administrative tasks such as time tracking, expense reports, and mileage reports.
When assigned, coordinate multi-location audits for large risks, review location audits for quality and accuracy, and consolidate results in the appropriate format for rating purposes.
When requested, assist with complex audits, Special Investigative Unit-related accounts, and special projects, including mentoring and presentations.
