About The Position

Description Of Job Duties · Assist incoming first-year students in their transition to college life by providing mentorship, programming, and opportunities to engage with other Premier Scholars. · Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in leading workshops and activities, during the summer component of the program and throughout the academic year. · Serve as a role model and mentor to students in the Premier Scholars Program and demonstrate leadership to the North Central College community. · Facilitate various one-on-one mentoring sessions with assigned Premier Scholar mentees during their first academic year. Mentoring sessions are related to the successful adjustment to both academic and student life in college. Attend all required spring 2026 and summer 2026 paraprofessional training sessions. Details of sessions will be provided by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Maintain cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 or above.
  • Maintain a good student standing in terms of on and off-campus conduct.
  • Confirmed plans for continued enrollment as a full-time student at North Central College for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Show and articulate an appreciation of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate excellent social and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in, contribute to, and lead a team-oriented environment.
  • Genuine concern for incoming students’ transition to the North Central College community and sense of belonging.
