About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly 1st shift position focused on preloading and transloading duties. The role involves safely and efficiently transferring, loading, and unloading product according to company and customer instructions. Employees must be available for extended periods of driving and transloading, potentially including weekends and holidays. The position requires adaptability to stressful situations such as traffic, customer delays, and weather conditions, and involves regular interaction with peers and management to improve terminal operations and promote teamwork. A strong safety attitude and attention to detail are essential.

Requirements

  • Must be 24 years of age.
  • Pass a drug test.
  • Pass back ground check.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • CDL’s are required for this hourly position but job would mainly be non driving. Driving could become needed as volumes and as customer needs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a good attendance record. (No more than 3 days unexcused absent in calendar year).
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Must have a good attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer Comprehension is a plus.
  • Perform inspections of trailer and tractors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a daily equipment inspection with the ability to detect mechanical defects & document.
  • Follow posted speed limits in parking lots while transloading.
  • Comply with in-cab camera systems.
  • Keep dispatch and other company officials updated with ETA of transloading loads and other pertinent information.
  • Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of terminal operations and promote a teamwork focused environment.
  • Communicate with team/shift employees concerning proper operation of equipment, safety concerns and maintenance issues.
  • Cranking of dolly legs.
  • Pulling 5th wheels pins.
  • Handle and connect hoses.
  • Operate valves.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers.
  • Climbing carabis system and using company issued fall protection.
  • Shuttle/Preload Trailers.
  • Maintain a good housekeeping.
  • Conduct all job tasks with a positive safety attitude.
