About The Position

The Predoctoral Scholar role involves preparing experiment proposals, conducting laboratory experiments, maintaining data files, analyzing data, drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and preparing grant applications. The scholar will design, execute, interpret, and integrate scientific data, while staying current with developments in the field and adhering to University policies. This position is full-time and a limited-term research role within the University of Miami.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making critical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares experiment proposals with detailed rationale, background data, and proposed methods and organization.
  • Conducts laboratory experiments and studies and records findings.
  • Maintains data files and conducts data analysis.
  • Drafts and publishes manuscripts and articles for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Prepares and submits grant applications.
  • Designs, executes, interprets, and integrates scientific data.
  • Maintains current knowledge of significant developments in the field.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
