About The Position

Under general supervision of the corporate Rotating Equipment group program manager, the Predictive Maintenance Specialist will provide expertise with equipment condition monitoring including vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, thermography, motor testing, and quality assurance. Publish and review periodic equipment health reports, provide financial reviews, generate and track work notifications, communicate and share information. Position will be located in Casper/Gillette, Wyoming area. Requires travel up to 50% of the time. Primary focus will be to provide the necessary support for a group of power generation stations while working as a member of a corporate level Rotating Equipment group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ISO Category II or higher Vibration Analyst Certification
  • ASNT Level 1 or higher Thermographer Certification
  • Thorough knowledge of Emerson CSI Machinery Health Manager software and 2140 data collector
  • Thorough knowledge of Bently Nevada systems including TSI, ADRE and System 1.
  • Thorough knowledge of rotating equipment dynamic balancing
  • Thorough knowledge precision shaft alignment of rotating equipment
  • Knowledge of lube oil analysis and quality control
  • Demonstrated knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of power plant equipment and systems.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers including automated tools.
  • A minimum of five or more years of directly related experience in industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor critical rotating equipment including collection of route data, regular preventive maintenance activities, and review of data results.
  • Optimize the quality of the maintenance performed at the plants by applying the correct inspection and monitoring technologies.
  • Develop and implement projects to optimize equipment reliability and minimize total lifecycle costs.
  • Provide technical support and direction for the Predictive Maintenance group members of the assigned plants.
  • Determine and coordinate training needs for the plant based team members and facilitate the appropriate training.
  • Provide mentoring to promote and build a culture of reliability and continuously improve equipment availability.
  • Focus on developing in-house expertise on the application of Predictive and Precision Maintenance technologies.
  • Provide long term planning based on equipment availability and condition assessment.
  • Create, maintain and manage relevant equipment historical data including operational performance, design modifications, previous inspections, and replacement.
  • Incorporate Predictive Maintenance information into routine planning and scheduling work process flow.
  • Participate in onsite equipment inspections and factory disassembly inspections to help determine corrective actions.
  • Provide onsite troubleshooting and technical expertise for major rotating equipment.
  • Work closely with plant management, maintenance and operations personnel.
