About The Position

This role focuses on designing, overseeing, and continuously improving the predictive maintenance program. It involves establishing inspection schedules, identifying equipment for inclusion, and evaluating predictive maintenance methodologies. The specialist will determine the selection, calibration, and use of predictive testing equipment, and provide technical leadership to maintenance technicians. Advanced predictive tools will be applied to assess equipment condition and anticipate failures, with data interpretation used to refine strategies. The role also includes providing technical oversight for diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, and performing root cause analyses. Additionally, the specialist will evaluate equipment condition to recommend repair, replacement, or restoration strategies, and develop documentation practices. Serving as a subject matter expert in safety, reliability, and maintenance efficiency, the specialist will establish standards and provide technical guidance. Collaboration with engineering, operations, and reliability teams is key, as is preparing and delivering analytical reports on equipment performance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
CMRT certification (required)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, reliability engineering, or related technical roles requiring independent judgment.
Advanced working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and applicable safety standards.
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities.
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), accredited by ANAB under ISO/IEC 17024.
Demonstrated professional-level competency in the four CMRT domains: Maintenance Practices, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Analysis, Corrective Maintenance.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree and technical or specialized training highly preferred.
Multicraft technical expertise (mechanical, electrical, welding, fluid power).
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and data analysis tools.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Determines the selection, calibration requirements, and appropriate use of predictive testing equipment.
Provides technical leadership and instruction to maintenance technicians and other employees on predictive maintenance techniques, procedures, and processes; evaluates performance against established standards.
Applies advanced predictive tools (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) to assess equipment condition and anticipate failures.
Interprets and analyzes collected data to refine predictive maintenance strategies and adjust program parameters.
Provides technical oversight and guidance for diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues within the predictive maintenance program.
Performs and leads root cause analyses to identify systemic issues and develops recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Evaluates equipment condition and recommends repair, replacement, or restoration strategies to meet operational and reliability standards.
Develops and standardizes documentation practices, data collection methodologies, and analytical tools to support maintenance and reliability objectives.
Serves as the subject matter expert for industry best practices related to safety, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
Establishes standards and provides technical guidance to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Partners with engineering, operations, and reliability teams to support equipment performance, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepares and delivers detailed analytical reports on equipment performance, maintenance effectiveness, and program outcomes to leadership.
