About The Position

This role is responsible for utilizing reliability equipment to analyze and detect potential machine failures to minimize downtime effectively. The technician will review and analyze gathered data to predict pending failures, using infrared, vibration, and ultrasonic technology for daily data collection. They will submit work orders and collaborate with maintenance planners to schedule repairs during planned downtime. The position also involves detecting leaks, performing routine maintenance like filter and oil changes, monitoring equipment, collecting oil samples, and providing support to plant operations and maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime. The technician will attend meetings, initiate plans to improve equipment life, and participate in job-related training to stay current with predictive maintenance technology. Safety procedures and effective communication are paramount.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in industrial maintenance and repairs, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with reliability technology in a manufacturing environment, where daily data collection, analysis, and reporting were done.
  • Data entry skills.
  • PDM related certifications Vibration Analysis and/or Ultrasound Analysis.
  • A thorough understanding of the root cause failure analysis process.
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize reliability equipment to analyze and detect potential machine failure to minimize downtime effectively.
  • Review and analyze data gathered to predict pending failure.
  • Utilize infrared, vibration, and ultrasonic technology for gathering data on a daily basis.
  • Submit work orders in MP2 and work with maintenance planners to schedule repairs during planned downtime for maintenance to fix issues found through analysis or during data collection.
  • Use reliability devices to detect air, steam, and nitrogen leaks.
  • Change filters, oil and grease.
  • Monitor equipment with noticeable issues and recommend shutdown equipment for immediate repairs, if necessary, to avoid catastrophic failure.
  • Collect oil samples for lab test analysis.
  • Provide support to Plant Operations and Maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime due to machine failure.
  • Attend reliability and maintenance meetings as required.
  • Initiate plans that will improve and extend the life of manufacturing equipment.
  • Applicant must be open to job-related training in order to stay current in predictive maintenance technology and to improve the effectiveness of the reliability program.
  • Observe and comply with all safety procedures.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, replacement, and repair as necessary.
  • Identify conditions that may require immediate attention.
  • Perform daily functions in a safe way that promotes protection of yourself and others. This may include but is not limited to wearing hearing protection, wearing safety boots, ergonomic movement, and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Perform all assigned reliability responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively through both written and verbal correspondence.
