About The Position

The Polaris D&IT Predictive Data Science Internship is a 12-week paid summer internship designed for emerging juniors and seniors interested in applying data science, analytics, and AI to solve real business challenges within the global powersports industry. As a Predictive Data Science Intern, you will work with large datasets to uncover insights, build predictive models, and develop data-driven recommendations that support business decisions across Polaris. Projects may include analyzing customer, dealer, supply chain, and operational data to identify trends, improve forecasting, optimize processes, and drive business performance. You will partner with cross-functional teams across analytics, technology, operations, and the business to turn data into actionable solutions and meaningful outcomes. Potential Project Areas: Predictive analytics and forecasting, Machine learning and AI solutions, Data management and engineering, Business intelligence, data visualization, and decision support. D&IT interns are typically based at Polaris Headquarters in Medina, MN, where they collaborate closely with technology, analytics, and business teams across the organization. The internship program is crafted to build the foundational skills and experiences essential for your career success. Upon completing the internship, those who demonstrate exceptional performance and a strong passion for learning may be offered a returning internship or a position in our rotational leadership development program. In addition to meaningful project work, you will participate in intentional programming and professional development offerings such as: Mentorship, Programming Hours, Networking, Intern Innovation Challenge, Early Talent Summit Week, Community Engagement, and Final Presentations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Data Science, or other related business degree with an intended graduation date between August 2027 - May 2029.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Must be able to commit to a full 12-week internship, working 40 hours per week, within one of the following date ranges: May 17th – August 6th or June 1st – August 20th, 2027.
  • Open to geographic mobility and relocation opportunities.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future.
  • Must have reliable transportation for daily commuting to and from the office.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office software tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship/co-op experience or involvement in relevant projects.
  • Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom.
  • Demonstrated strengths in analysis, creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
  • Interest in future career opportunities and continued growth within Polaris.
  • Completion of at least two years of university coursework.
