As the Preconstruction Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all preconstruction activities for construction projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules that align with project objectives and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on preconstruction activities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry best practices, including estimating, scheduling, and value engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Produce the SIS/SIR and other pertinent information regarding the viability of all GU sites
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements for all GU projects.
  • Develop comprehensive concept plans and strategies to meet project goals and client expectations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate project viability and identify potential challenges.
  • Represent these elements during the Scrub Call and NUR calls.
  • Provide adequate project information to the construction teams so they may develop accurate project estimates.
  • Track these cost estimates.
  • Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize project budgets.
  • Ensure these budgets are incorporated into project evals prior to the scrub calls and NUR call.
  • Develop project concept schedules, milestones, and timelines in coordination with project teams.
  • Identify critical path activities and potential schedule risks and implement measures to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Execute plan orders, perform QC reviews, and deliver suitable building plans to the Construction Teams within the agree upon time frame.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges during the concept phase of preconstruction and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during the concept phase of preconstruction for all GU projects - Maintain positive relationships with clients and ensure their needs and expectations are met throughout the preconstruction process.
