About The Position

We provide commercial HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal fabrication, advanced BAS and energy services to clients across Wisconsin. Our expertise extends into a full-range of industries – from healthcare and manufacturing to education, government, financial institutions, and more. We’re seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead and elevate our preconstruction operations across multiple Wisconsin branches. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing estimating, engineering, and BIM teams to ensure successful mechanical construction project planning and execution. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in mechanical contracting, a collaborative leadership style, and a strategic mindset focused on driving efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in construction or manufacturing
  • Background in mechanical contracting strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong leadership and strategic decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Financial acumen (P&L, cost management, budgeting)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-related software
  • Solid understanding of construction law and business practices
  • Results-driven with strong business insight
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • Customer-focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators, engineers, and BIM professionals
  • Foster collaboration and consistency across all branch locations
  • Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance
  • Oversee accurate, detailed project estimates and budgets
  • Align estimates with company standards, timelines, and client expectations
  • Partner with project managers to refine scopes and schedules
  • Ensure engineering accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Champion BIM processes to enhance coordination and visualization
  • Promote technology integration across all phases of preconstruction
  • Build strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations
  • Resolve issues proactively during preconstruction phases
  • Standardize processes across all branches
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and industry regulations
  • Conduct audits to ensure consistency and quality
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Implement improvements that enhance efficiency and outcomes
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive operational excellence
