About The Position

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Preconstruction Intern to be based in Dallas, TX. This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks. Assist with development of a project prior to on-site construction activities. Cost Estimating – determine quantities utilizing a traditional 2D takeoff tool such as On-Screen Takeoff or 3D model quantities utilizing a program such as Assemble. Schedule Development – review project documentation to determine scope involved to assist in creating a preliminary project schedule. Logistics Planning – study characteristics of the project site to determine best approach to phasing, access, and laydown areas. Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff. Meets required schedules while producing quality work. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study. Internships at AECOM are designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, construction management and infrastructure projects that have a real-world impact while they are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs furthering their education. Interns gain exposure to cutting-edge technology, industry best practices, and collaboration with experienced professionals in a global firm. Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering and/or similar discipline and must have completed at least 1 year of study.
  • Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.
  • Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
