About The Position

Wight & Company is seeking a summer intern to join their Integrated Services Group as part of the preconstruction team in their Darien office. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with Wight’s architects, engineers, and construction operations field team. This internship is part of a robust Summer Intern program that offers networking opportunities with professionals and interns from various departments, fostering career-long relationships.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills
• Adequate transportation to report to job sites as needed
• Basic understanding of construction materials and methods
• Good organization and computer skills
• Openness to learn and have fun

Responsibilities

• Assisting the preconstruction team with data entry and document organization.
• Supporting construction schedule development and updates for upcoming projects.
• Helping to create phasing and logistics plans.
• Conducting comprehensive plan reviews to identify scopes of work.
• Assist estimators in compiling project budgets, value engineering options, and cost comparison reports.
• Assisting in the development of detailed scope sheets for various bid packages.
