Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 1–3 months of relevant experience/training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Fluent in reading specification sheets, diagrams, and blueprints; comfortable following written and verbal instructions.
  • Solid basic math for tolerances/variation; introductory knowledge of CNC concepts and laser parameters.
  • Proficient with measuring devices and hand tools; mechanically inclined with strong dexterity using both hand and power tools.
  • Excellent visual acuity and hand‑eye coordination.
  • History of accurate work at pace, adherence to safe production standards, and meeting quality/quantity quotas.
  • Confident conducting final quality checks and recommending rework as appropriate.
  • Programming literacy for simple scripts (e.g., Visual Basic/VBScript) and fluency with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of fixture concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Mastery of Visual Laser Marker software
  • Guided training on VLM setups, process parameters, documentation practices (GDP), and 5S routines during the first 90 days.
  • Progression from closely supervised runs to independently executing full finishing sequences that meet customer specifications within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Own surface finishing from start to finish: laser etching (with mastery of Visual Laser Marker software), ultrasonic cleaning, blasting, tumbling, and passivation.
  • Assemble subcomponents, then package and label products so they’re ready to ship.
  • Apply SOPs, GMPs, and GDPs meticulously; maintain a safe workplace and uphold 5S standards.
  • Meet throughput commitments while protecting quality; inspect output and direct items to rework when needed.
  • Support company and area objectives; perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
