About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Precision Production Technician in Niagara Falls, New York for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform detailed electronic and electromechanical assembly of miniature precision components for production, developmental, and prototype hardware. The technician will work extensively under microscopes while performing precision assembly, rework, modification, and quality-related activities.

Requirements

  • Experience using a microscope to assemble components.
  • Strong visual acuity and ability to perform detailed work under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Experience working with miniature precision devices or components.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine-motor skills.
  • Ability to perform highly detailed and precise assembly work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing part conditions and variations in individual components.
  • Ability to follow technical requirements in production environments where documentation or guidance may be limited.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person for export-control purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience performing precision assembly or similar detailed work under a microscope.
  • Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly, rework, or repair experience.
  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly or rework experience.
  • Medical-device assembly experience.
  • Experience with other precision microscopic work such as watch repair or jewelry manufacturing.
  • Experience working in an ISO-controlled or cleanroom environment.
  • Experience assembling miniature components into precision assemblies.
  • IPC J-STD-001 soldering certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble miniature electronic and electromechanical components using microscopes and precision tools.
  • Perform detailed production, developmental, prototype, and preproduction assembly operations.
  • Complete modifications and rework on precision components and assemblies.
  • Perform quality testing and inspect completed work for accuracy and workmanship.
  • Work with development and manufacturing engineering personnel to resolve production issues.
  • Adapt assembly techniques to variations and inconsistencies in miniature components.
  • Support production activities where work instructions or engineering guidance may be limited.
  • Maintain precise workmanship and consistent quality throughout detailed assembly operations.
