About The Position

Do you turn complex models into clean, production‑ready code? If you love squeezing seconds out of cycle times, translating GD&T into elegant toolpaths, and partnering with machinists to get flawless first articles, this role is for you. You’ll be the engineering bridge between CAD, the machine, and AS9100‑compliant quality on both prototype and production work.

Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED required; technical certification or associate’s in machining/manufacturing/engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of CNC programming in precision manufacturing.
  • Hands‑on 4‑ and 5‑axis experience (required).
  • AS9100/aerospace or defense familiarity (strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAM (GibbsCAM/Virtual Gibbs or equivalent) and solid model interpretation.
  • Knowledge of CNC processes, cutting tools/materials, GD&T, G‑code/M‑code, and controllers (Fanuc, Haas).
  • Documented troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • AS9100/aerospace or defense familiarity (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Own CAM programming for 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis mills and lathes using GibbsCAM (or similar).
  • Interpret blueprints/3D models and apply GD&T to generate accurate, efficient toolpaths.
  • Optimize feeds/speeds, select tooling/fixturing, and validate with simulation and posting.
  • Partner with machinists during setups; deliver crystal‑clear setup sheets and work instructions.
  • Support First Article Inspection, perform adjustments, and collaborate with Quality to close gaps.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for programming nonconformances.
  • Continuously improve programs for repeatability, safety, and takt time; standardize multi‑axis practices.
  • Maintain a revision‑controlled program library and support audits per AS9100.
  • Work cross‑functionally to prioritize jobs and provide cycle‑time estimates for quoting.
  • Mentor machinists/operators and provide on‑demand technical support.
