Precision Farming Specialist
About The Position
Provide technical and sales support to Birkeys employees and customers regarding technologies of the present and future such as: combine yield monitors & global positioning systems, light bar & auto guidance systems, sprayer application systems, and planter GPS application systems. This role also involves developing and implementing marketing programs, educating sales staff on agronomic advantages, communicating manufacturer updates, conducting product meetings, performing product demonstrations and equipment deliveries, calling on customers to sell products and services, and developing relationships with key crop protection retailers & wholesalers. The position also requires carrying out supervisory responsibilities to ensure a safe environment, staying current on product knowledge, maintaining updated manuals, providing activity reporting, and maintaining a safe working environment in adherence to the company safety program. Customer service is a key aspect, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving concerns efficiently, promoting a positive attitude, maintaining a professional appearance, and exhibiting a high level of customer service.
Requirements
- An Associates degree or its equivalent.
- Ability to set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Ability to understand and carryout oral and written directions.
- Ability to maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest level of customer satisfaction.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Steady work record.
- Ability to perform each of the essential position functions.
- Ability to get to and around the corporate office and store locations for various tasks.
- Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands.
- Ability to be on ones feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate equipment or other power equipment as necessary.
- Must meet health assessment requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide sales support to the Ag locations on product knowledge relative to the software & hardware on combines, planters, tractors, & sprayers electronic monitoring and application systems.
- Assist developing and implementing a marketing program that will promote related key services.
- Provide education to our sales staff regarding agronomic advantages.
- Communicate manufacturer updates to sales staff.
- Conduct product meetings with customers and sales personnel.
- Complete product demonstrations, and equipment deliveries whenever necessary.
- Call on customers and sell companys products and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key crop protection retailers & wholesalers to better service their related product needs.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities to provide and keep a safe environment for all customers and employees.
- Keep current on product knowledge, features, and benefits of all products.
- Maintain updated manuals and materials.
- Provide activity reporting as directed.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all times.
- Ensure every customer is satisfied with the products, services and support of all staff.
- Resolve customers concerns efficiently and effectively.
- Promote a positive attitude at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
