The Precision Extrusion Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing precision extrusion and interventional extrusion processes specifically for medical device tubing. This role ensures high precision product and compliance with tight medical tolerances and standards. The engineer will oversee all aspects of the polymer extrusion line, including set-up, tear down, equipment maintenance, and workflow. They will execute complex processes such as multi-lumen, taper tubing, and co-extrusions, including balloon tubing. A key focus will be on driving process optimization, collaborating with production personnel and R&D to meet customer specifications, and troubleshooting processing parameters using problem-solving methodologies. The role also involves supporting health and safety policies, managing raw materials for traceability, maintaining comprehensive records, and writing/executing process and equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ). Collaboration with various departments (Production Development, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing) during new product development is essential. The engineer will also support productivity improvements, scrap reduction, and cost savings initiatives, and provide technical support and training to production staff. Directing equipment maintenance and other assignments as requested are also part of the responsibilities.
