About The Position

The Precision Cleaning Supervisor oversees daily operations of cleaning processes for aerospace components, ensuring all parts meet strict contamination control and quality standards (often tied to specs like AS9100 and NASA or defense cleanliness requirements). This is a hands-on leadership role—part production manager, part quality enforcer.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of precision cleaning methods and contamination control
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100, MIL-STD cleanliness specs)
  • Understanding of materials, solvents, and compatibility
  • Experience supervising production teams
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to enforce discipline without killing morale
  • Problem-solving in high-spec environments
  • Ability to interpret inspection data and quality metrics

Responsibilities

  • Supervise technicians performing precision cleaning (ultrasonic, aqueous, solvent, etc.)
  • Schedule and prioritize jobs based on production demand
  • Ensure on-time delivery without compromising cleanliness standards
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
  • Enforce adherence to aerospace cleaning specs (particle count, NVR, etc.)
  • Ensure procedures align with standards like AS9100
  • Review and approve cleaning documentation and certifications
  • Coordinate audits (internal, customer, regulatory)
  • Train and mentor cleaning technicians
  • Enforce safety protocols (chemical handling, PPE, hazardous materials)
  • Manage staffing, shift coverage, and performance evaluations
  • Build accountability and consistency on the floor
  • Maintain and optimize cleaning processes and equipment
  • Troubleshoot contamination or failed inspections
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, Six Sigma principles)
  • Work with engineering to refine cleaning methods
  • Oversee maintenance of cleaning systems (ultrasonic tanks, cleanrooms, filtration systems)
  • Ensure calibration and validation of equipment
  • Maintain cleanroom standards (if applicable, e.g., ISO Class environments)
  • Maintain detailed records for each cleaned part/batch
  • Ensure traceability for aerospace compliance
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAPA)
