About The Position

The Precertification Specialist / Scheduler coordinates the activities related to patient scheduling within and outside of the healthcare system, interacts with other members of health care teams to achieve desired outcome. Performs pre-certification functions to ensure that all services requiring carrier authorizations are approved.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Two years’ work experience in hospital registration, insurance, or financial counseling required
  • Considerable knowledge and skill in the application of the techniques and practices of OR Scheduling.
  • Considerable knowledge of complex medical terminology and advanced disease processes preferred.
  • Previous work experience in pre-certification and knowledge of medical terminology highly preferred.
