About The Position

This role is for a Precast Designer in Albany, NY, a significant hub for New York's transportation infrastructure and public-sector engineering. The position is ideal for a senior designer with extensive experience in structural concrete and transportation-related design. The designer will be responsible for completing drafting and design tasks for precast and prestressed concrete projects, working closely with project teams, Project Managers, and Engineers. The goal is to contribute to Fisher's delivery of safe, durable, constructible, and cost-effective solutions for transportation infrastructure and underground structures. Requirements

  • 0-5 years of design experience in precast concrete design engineering for transportation infrastructure and underground structures, including utility vaults, manholes, drainage structures, and pump stations.
  • A.S. degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7, and AASHTO.
  • Experience in AutoCAD.
  • Highly adaptable and proactive approach to project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned precast drafting and design tasks for transportation infrastructure and underground structures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop structurally sound, cost-effective, and visually appealing precast concrete designs.
  • Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications aligned with industry design standards.
  • Support material cost estimation and assist Project Managers and Designers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilize, and support QA/QC processes and gain knowledge of precast and prestressed concrete technologies and codes.
