About The Position

Collins Companies, Pallette Stone Corporation is seeking a Precast Concrete Estimator at our Saratoga Springs, NY facility. Long-term and leadership positions available to those with the right drive and skills. Upon acceptance of the offer, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment substance screening (Drug-Free Employer).

Requirements

Basic knowledge of concrete and various aspects of construction
Strong mathematics skills with the ability to calculate, analyze data and compute rates, ratios and percentages
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Strong ability to plan, organize and work independently to meet expected deadlines
Strong ability to read and understand project plans and specifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel
Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on time with record acceptable to the company's insurers
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
Ability to work outside of scheduled hours to meet demands of position

Nice To Haves

Experience with telephone-based customer service
Experience with Excel spread sheets
Experience in construction estimating/sales

Responsibilities

Review plans and recognize potential precast bid opportunities
Prepare accurate quotations and shop drawings based on project specific plans and specifications
Utilize inventory / invoicing software to ensure accurate and timely billing
Gain full understanding of NYSDOT and National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) standards for precast concrete
Gain full understanding of precast Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) program
