About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (Preadmissions) to join our collaborative team. In this key role, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered care before procedures—helping each patient feel confident, informed, and cared for at every step of their surgical journey. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, frequent telephone communication with patients, providers, and other departments, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree)
  • Active California RN License
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and teamwork skills are essential
  • Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience (Pre-Op strongly preferred; Consideration for OR, PACU, ER, ICU or similar)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment-skilled in critical thinking, teamwork, multitasking and self-direction

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing care throughout the preadmission phase
  • Assess and review medical clearances and documentation to ensure completeness and suitability for surgery
  • Coordination of preoperative testing
  • Work closely with anesthesia to ensure patient is a surgical candidate
  • Obtain medical clearances and documentation from multiple avenues
  • Interact with patients primarily by phone, occasionally in person, to review preoperative instructions, answer questions, and provide education
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, anesthesia recovery, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, patient care coordinators, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to deliver seamless, high-quality care
