The Pre-T Nurse Aide position is part of the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP). During this "prior to training" period, the team member cannot perform any direct/physical patient care. Once the team member completes the nurse aide classes and required clinical work, they will be considered a Nurse Aide in Training (NAT). The facility may not use any individual working in the facility as a nurse aide for more than 4 months under the Pre-T or NAT positions. The team member must pass the licensure test to become a STNA during this time period. If the team member fails to pass the licensure test in the 4-month period, they will either have to be terminated or be moved to a non-nursing position.
