The Pre-Suit Paralegal role at The Starkey Law Group is pivotal in ensuring that our personal injury clients receive unparalleled legal support. As a key figure in pre-suit processes, you will drive case progress, facilitate settlements, and uphold our commitment to client-centered representation.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years in personal injury litigation.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities, crucial for client interaction and negotiation.
  • Legal Knowledge: Proficient in legal terminology and processes, with familiarity in court filing procedures and MyCase.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional detail orientation, capable of managing multiple tasks and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset to anticipate challenges and drive case progress effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact, providing clear, proactive updates throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Case Management: Manage pre-suit PI cases from intake through settlement, including records, bills, treatment tracking, and timelines.
  • Settlement Negotiations: Draft demands and negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters under attorney guidance.
  • COAM Arbitration: Handle COAM cases, including managing demands, filings, and scheduling up to the appeal level.
  • Local Government Collections: Manage end-to-end collections accounts, including debtor communications and payment reports.
  • Cross-Train: Learn litigation functions to provide coverage and support across practice areas, ensuring seamless client service continuity.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare client binders, file documents with courts, and maintain digital and physical case records accurately.
  • Calendar Management: Track and update important deadlines, ensuring adherence to court schedules and firm processes.
