About The Position

The Pre-School Teacher Assistant is responsible for working as part of the education team in the classrooms of the Pre-School program. The assistant will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in the pre-school program. The assistant will engage with the children by initiating activities, ensure children's safety by following and ensuring safety policies and regulations are followed, and promote positive social interactions in accordance with facility guidelines. The assistant will help plan, develop and implement the daily lessons for the children.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Friendly, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple children with varying needs and energy levels.
Reliable, punctual, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Stationary Position -- Sitting or Standing: Frequently

Nice To Haves

Experience in child care, or early childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

Actively engage with the children in the assigned classroom of 2's 3's or 4's.
Maintain a clean, secure, and child-friendly environment, following cleaning and disinfecting the space and toys.
Greet and engage with children throughout their program experience. Greet parents and ensure their comfort with the classroom activities.
Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Support age-appropriate activities such as games, arts and crafts, story time, and free play, based on lessons created with staff.
Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among children.
Provide and promote a pre-school environment that will offer opportunities to explore, create and provided unique learning experiences for each child.
Greet parents/guardians, manage check-in and check-out procedures.
Communicate any concerns, behavioral issues, or incidents promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with supervisors and other staff to support child care program standards.
Sanitize toys, equipment, and play areas regularly in compliance with health standards.
Monitor supply inventory and inform supervisor of needs.
Follow all facility policies, licensing regulations, and COVID-19 safety protocols if applicable.
