About The Position

This position is responsible for all pre-registration activities including gathering and processing patient demographic and financial information, identifying payment sources, computing and collecting patient responsibilities, ensuring authorization information has been obtained, providing patient appointment reminders and instructions, and providing excellent customer service to all patients, peers, medical center staff, community providers, etc. Catawba Valley Medical Center is the region’s largest not-for-profit community hospital, existing to heal and comfort patients, promote and foster a healthier community, and ensure access to healthcare to all who need it - regardless of ability to pay. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year administrative experience in customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Formal course work in business administration
  • Medical terminology
  • Three years experience in a hospital admitting department or medical office
