To strengthen our Prepress Team in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, we are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Prepress Technician. The successful candidate will prepare customer artwork and production files for high-quality printing, ensuring accuracy, color consistency, and compliance with production requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in prepress processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering press-ready files that support efficient manufacturing and the production of high-quality folding cartons.

Requirements

  • An Associate degree in Graphic Arts or a related field; a Bachelor's degree is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience in prepress, graphic arts, or packaging production.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Esko software; experience with packaging workflows is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of color management, trapping, imposition, proofing, and offset printing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting production deadlines.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Committed to quality, continuous improvement, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with packaging workflows is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and verify customer artwork and production files to ensure they are press-ready and meet quality and production requirements.
  • Perform preflight inspections, apply trapping, color corrections, separations, impositions, and create proofs for customer approval.
  • Ensure color accuracy, barcode compliance, and adherence to ICC profile and printing standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Structural Design, Production, and Quality teams to support efficient manufacturing and resolve technical issues.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on the plate processor to ensure optimal performance and consistent print quality.
  • Maintain organized digital files, documentation, and workflow records while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives.
  • Contribute to a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment by following company policies and industry best practices.
