About The Position

CCL Label Food and Beverage Sioux Falls is seeking a Pre-Press Platemaker to join their team. This role involves creating press plates according to job specifications and established procedures using platemaking, testing, and computer equipment. The Pre-Press Platemaker will also perform quality inspections of plates to ensure they meet specifications and identify any imperfections. This position offers a 4-day work week with openings available on both day and night shifts.

Requirements

• Be safety conscious and have the ability to regularly work in a production environment with fast moving machinery and product under little supervision
• Have safety awareness and ability to recognize hazards including, but not limited to staying out of safety light areas while machinery is operating and maintaining a safe distance as required.
• Ability to understand and comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to proof-read, spot errors and inconsistencies and take appropriate action
• Good mechanical aptitude and skills
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals quickly and correctly.
• Skill in practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Skill in performing measurement operations with units in imperial and metric systems.
• Ability to measure with exceptional accuracy using various measurement tools.
• Able to read, interpret and follow documents such as work instructions, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, and maintenance instructions/manuals to properly perform work.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Willingness and ability to work with other team members and management.
• Strong work ethic and good attitude towards work.
• Honest, reliable team player.

• 6 months or more Experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare print plates and screens to provide clear and accurate product
• Read and comprehend job tickets
• Assemble screen or plates while checking for distortion, tap, colors or step.
• Reclaim used screens and maintains screens.
• Cleans processing equipment
• Checks proofs for correctness
• Maintains supply inventory
• Other duties as assigned
