About The Position

The Packing Team Lead supports the daily operation of the assigned production area by coordinating employees, materials, equipment, and workflow. This role provides hands-on leadership to approximately 15–20 team members and helps maintain a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment. The Team Lead will monitor production performance, provide direction and feedback, assist with troubleshooting, support employee training, and escalate concerns when safety, quality, delivery, or staffing expectations are not being met.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, packing, or industrial environment.
  • Experience leading, coordinating, or supervising teams of approximately 15–20 employees.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and production floor management.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing production priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Operations teams.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift and overtime as required.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Team Lead, Team Coordinator, or production leadership experience.
  • Experience with SAP or another manufacturing management system.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, TPM, or 5S methodologies.
  • Experience monitoring production metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
  • Experience onboarding and training manufacturing employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily activities and assignments of approximately 15–20 production team members.
  • Support the supervisor with workforce planning, staffing adjustments, production priorities, and shift coverage.
  • Conduct daily team meetings and communicate production goals, safety expectations, quality concerns, and operational updates.
  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in safety drills and activities.
  • Immediately report and escalate accidents, incidents, safety concerns, and policy violations.
  • Confirm that production processes are completed according to safety, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Conduct process confirmations and 5S audits within the assigned production area.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate production concerns requiring additional support.
  • Provide initial troubleshooting support and escalate equipment or production issues when necessary.
  • Coordinate accurate shift handoffs, including equipment status, staffing, materials, production plans, changeovers, and outstanding issues.
  • Confirm that Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks and production activities are completed on schedule.
  • Monitor delays, scrap, staffing shortages, and other issues impacting production performance.
  • Support production operations directly when additional assistance is needed.
  • Encourage employees to identify process improvements, eliminate waste, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Train new employees and support the continued technical development of team members.
  • Maintain employee training records, evaluations, and skill confirmations.
  • Provide timely coaching and feedback while communicating employee performance concerns to the supervisor.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
