We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Pre- and Post-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team. In this vital role, you'll guide patients through every stage of their surgical journey—from preparation and education to recovery and discharge—making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes every day.
Requirements
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- BLS certification required
Nice To Haves
- Orthopedic, surgical, PACU, or ambulatory surgery experience preferred
- ACLS preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including medical history reviews and patient education
- Prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all documentation, testing, and protocols are complete
- Monitor and care for patients during the immediate post-operative recovery phase
- Assess vital signs, recovery progress, and patient comfort while identifying potential concerns
- Administer medications and manage pain according to physician orders
- Provide clear discharge instructions and post-operative education to patients and their families
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to deliver outstanding patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance
