Patients are then discharged or transferred to another level of care. The schedule consists of four 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 32 hours. Start times vary between 5:30 a.m. and noon. Call includes three weeknights in each six-week schedule, every fifth weekend (Saturday or Sunday, not both), and one holiday call requirement per year. Call requires a 30-minute response time.
