About The Position

The Pre-Licensed Therapist provides recovery-oriented mental health services to youth and families within the Kickstart program, which focuses on early intervention and prevention of psychosis. This role delivers individual, group, and family counseling while supporting client independence and family empowerment. The therapist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally responsive, community-based care for individuals ages 10 to 25.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Registered as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with mental health patients in inpatient or outpatient settings
  • Direct clinical and case management experience with knowledge of rehabilitation philosophy
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy for youth and adults
  • Deliver crisis intervention and consultation services
  • Conduct assessments and therapeutic interviews to identify client needs and treatment goals
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and program development
  • Provide educational and vocational guidance to clients
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and professional boundaries
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust interventions as needed
  • Provide community outreach, consultation, and education to schools and organizations
  • Facilitate educational classes such as parenting, anger management, and domestic violence
  • Provide linkages to additional services and intensive interventions
  • Transport clients as needed using a personal vehicle
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and on-call duties as assigned
  • Meet monthly productivity requirements as established by the program
