About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for our UPK Program at Central Elementary in Larchmont, NY for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, possess energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The position requires strong teamwork and communication skills with colleagues and families, as well as reliability and organization. The teacher will implement the Creative Curriculum, plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with NYS Early Learning Standards, and support early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development through play-based learning. Responsibilities also include conducting assessments, documenting progress, communicating with families, building strong relationships, collaborating with support staff, maintaining a high-quality classroom environment, and participating in professional development. The role offers a supportive UPK classroom environment with a clear curriculum structure and district alignment, working with four-year-olds at a key developmental stage, and being part of a collaborative school community.

Requirements

  • Valid NYS Early Childhood Teaching Certification (Birth–2, N–6, Pre-K–6) or Bachelor's with approved 5-Year Plan
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Experience with preschool-age children
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must successfully pass all required state background checks
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children

Responsibilities
