About The Position

Aurora Collegiate Academy is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting the lead teacher in creating a safe and welcoming classroom environment for students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The academy focuses on providing a strong academic, social, and character foundation to prepare students for college and beyond. The ideal candidate is dedicated to ensuring high academic achievement for underserved children and is willing to do 'whatever it takes' to support the school's mission.

Requirements

At least 48 semester hours of college (2 years) or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test with a high school diploma.
Must have or be able to obtain a certificate in CPR and First Aid.
Must be able to obtain a Child Development Associate Certificate within 2 years of the time of hire.
A willingness to complete all duties and responsibilities to the fullest.
A belief that all students can succeed in college and a desire to lead students to that outcome.

Responsibilities

Adhere to school policies regarding behavior expectations, including rewards and consequences.
Work effectively and professionally with all school team members.
Implement small group instruction as required.
Align all teaching to the standards-based curriculum.
Inform all instructional decisions with data as a classroom-planning tool.
Work with MSCS staff to ensure all compliance is met in the classroom.
Work with the lead teacher to implement a safe and welcoming classroom.
Participate in high-frequency coaching.
Follow all professional norms.
Do whatever it takes to achieve the mission of Aurora Collegiate Academy.
