About The Position

As a Pre-K Staff member, you'll play an important role in creating engaging experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence while helping children build friendships and lifelong skills. Through play, exploration, and positive relationships, you'll help bring Camp Fire's Promise to life by giving every child the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are. This is for the Pre-K Afterschool Program which runs from August to May, Monday - Friday, 11:30 am - 6:00 pm. The position involves working between 32-35 hours per week, delivering quality programming and actively supervising preschool-age youth. This includes 6.5 hours daily of site time, with up to 1 additional hour daily for activity planning, meetings, and trainings (times vary).

Requirements

Age requirement: 18 years-old.
Minimum of 6 months experience working with children in childcare, youth development, recreation, camps, or similar setting; preschool age preferred.
Ability to transport self to work and to the Camp Fire office for trainings.
Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED & First Aid certification (provided after hire).
Food Worker Card certification (provided after hire).
Mandated Reporter training certificate (provided after hire).
Health & Safety certificate (provided after hire).

Nice To Haves

Ability to work at multiple sites preferred.
Child Development Associate Credential (CDA).
Knowledge of behavior management, activity facilitation, and ages and stages of youth development.
