About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking an energetic, passionate individual who loves working with children to join our team as a Pre-K Lead Teacher for our After School Program during the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time, non-exempt position located at Patricia A. DiChiaro School in Yonkers, NY, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The working hours are from 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM, subject to change.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Child Development, Child Development Certificate, Bachelor's Degree and or equivalent degree.
• Child Development Associate Credential or another Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period (with 1 year of experience).
• 9 Credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 1 year of experience).
• Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB).
• Demonstrates a positive, friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with children, parents, and team members.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance.
• Able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, and meet the physical demands of working with children.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff and program operations consistently meet state regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school requirements.
• Plan and lead engaging, hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support.
• Oversee daily operational tasks such as accurate attendance and registration tracking, scheduling, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and caregivers using the Playground App.
• Communicate regularly with your direct report to share updates, address concerns, and support a positive team environment. Together, you will ensure high-quality care, strong staff morale, and proactive problem-solving.
