About The Position

The Goddard School of Monroe is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and energetic Pre-K Teacher to join our exceptional team. The ideal candidate is dedicated to early childhood education, committed to creating engaging learning experiences, and enthusiastic about helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Pre-K Teacher, you will create a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. You will work collaboratively with families and fellow educators to support each child's growth and success.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or qualifications required under Connecticut licensing regulations.
  • Experience working with preschool or Pre-K-aged children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Passion for early childhood education and child development.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Connecticut Early Childhood credentials or teaching certification.
  • Experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or private school setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and play-based learning.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood education best practices and The Wonder of Learning.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes learning, exploration, and social-emotional development.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress and development.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized classroom environment.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, milestones, and classroom activities.
  • Manage classroom routines and transitions effectively.
  • Encourage positive behavior through proactive guidance and support.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, professional development opportunities, and family engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and school policies.
