About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring Pre-K Childcare Staff for their Before and After School Programs in Salem, NJ for the 2025-2026 school year. This role involves creating a safe and fun environment for children to grow and thrive, leading engaging activities, and being part of a positive, supportive team. The position is located at Elsinboro Township School in Salem, NJ, with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. It is a part-time, non-exempt position with a split shift schedule, with morning program hours varying between 7:00 - 8:15 am and afternoon program hours varying between 3:00 - 6:00 pm. A featured benefit is employer-paid childcare for children (ages 3-12) enrolled in the program on the days and during the hours the employee works.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
  • Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
  • Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (certain positions may perform management functions).
