About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a part-time Pre-K Childcare Assistant for its Before and After School Programs at DB Bunce Elementary School in Pavilion, New York, for the 2026–2027 school year. The position follows the school calendar and pays $16.00 per hour. Opportunities may be available in the morning program (7:00–8:45 a.m.), the afternoon program (2:10–6:00 p.m.), or both.

The assistant helps create a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment for children, facilitates activities using the Healthy Kids Curriculum, and supports children's learning through play and positive experiences. The curriculum includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion. The role also involves following state and program policies, and supporting operations such as attendance records, registration, and staffing.

The role suits someone who enjoys building relationships with children, encouraging their curiosity and confidence, and working collaboratively with teammates and families. Healthy Kids Programs offers employer-paid childcare for eligible school-age children enrolled in its program during the employee's working hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
