About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Pre-K Childcare Assistant for our After School Program at the Woestina Elementary School location for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position follows the school calendar and offers opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both programs. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoys encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. They should also work well with teammates and communicate effectively with families, being reliable, organized, and committed to providing exceptional care. This role is well-suited for parents seeking a schedule that aligns with the school day, education majors or future teachers looking for hands-on experience, or retirees who enjoy mentoring children. The position focuses on ensuring program quality with engaged and safe children, maintaining full staffing, ensuring compliance with ratios and records, and keeping the site well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medically cleared of any communicable diseases including TB
• Warm, friendly, and upbeat demeanor
• Exceptional people skills
• Professional, reliable, and prompt
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, carry (up to 50 lbs.), and keep up with children

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13

Responsibilities

• Engage children in activities, ensuring they are safe and having fun.
• Maintain program quality reflecting Healthy Kids Program’s model.
• Ensure the site is fully staffed daily.
• Prepare and support teachers.
• Operate in ratio at all times.
• Maintain accurate and current records.
• Ensure the program is ready for inspection.
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and materials.
• Restock supplies before they run out.
