About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a part-time Pre-K Childcare Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year at Edgewood Pre-K Academy in Bristol, Connecticut. The position follows the school calendar, with opportunities to work the morning program (7:00 AM–8:10 AM), the afternoon program (2:00 PM–5:30 PM), or both. Pay is $16.98 per hour.

The assistant helps create a safe, healthy, and fun environment for children, supports learning through play and positive experiences, and facilitates activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum. The role also involves following applicable state, program, and host-school policies and supporting program operations.

Healthy Kids Programs provides employer-paid childcare for eligible school-age children enrolled in its program during the employee’s work hours. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be medically cleared of communicable diseases, including TB.
• Be warm, friendly, and upbeat, with exceptional people skills; be professional, reliable, and prompt.
• Be physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds and keep up with the children.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably have one year of experience working with children under 13.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host-school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
